Volcanic Project – Technological Pedagogical Innovation in Higher Education

The MOFET Institute is proud to be a partner in the Volcanic Project – Promoting Technologies for Innovative Learning, an international initiative supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program.

The project aims to promote education systems for underserved and peripheral populations, including the Bedouin community in southern Israel and geographically remote populations in Morocco. This is achieved by integrating innovative pedagogy and advanced technological tools into teaching and teacher training.

Launched on February 1, 2024, and running for three years, the project is based on a unique collaboration between nine partners: six higher education and teacher-training institutions from Israel and Morocco (three from each country), and three leading universities from Europe.

What does the project include?

  • Development of Advanced Teaching Methods – Research and international collaboration to design innovative educational solutions.
  • Innovative Study Programs – Teaching 12 academic courses that integrate information technologies, computational thinking, and generative artificial intelligence.
  • Teacher Training – Workshops and training sessions for in-service teachers and teacher trainees, aimed at strengthening technological teaching skills.
  • Advanced Learning Spaces – Creating innovative environments that allow students without sufficient infrastructure to gain hands-on experience with digital tools.
